Composer’s Notes
This work was written specifically for boys voices, utilizing a lower alto range to focus on their transitions as their voices change. That said, it can also be sung by women if your altos have the notes! Keep the energy flowing throughout each piece, and allow it to keep the dance feel even when in the slow, pensive sections.

Text
Psalm 89
O let Jehovah be blessed
through all eternity:
Amen, so let it be,
also Amen, so it shall be.
Psalm 23
The Lord to me a shepherd is,
want therefore shall not I:
He in the folds of tender grass,
doth cause me down to lie:
To waters calm me gently leads
restore my soul doth he:
He doth in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake lead me.
Yea, though in valley of death’s shade
I walk, none ill I’ll fear:
Because thou art with me, thy rod,
and staff my comfort are.
For me a table thou hast spread,
in presence of my foes:
Thou dost anoint my head with oil,
my cup it overflows.
Goodness and mercy surely shall
all my days follow me:
And in the Lord’s house I shall dwell
so long as days shall be.
Psalm 121
To the hills lift up mine eyes,
from whence shall come mine aid
Mine help doth from Jehovah come,
which heav’n and earth hath made.
He will not let thy foot be mov’d,
nor slumber, that thee keeps.
Lo he that keepeth Israel,
He slumbers not, nor sleeps.
The Lord thy keeper is, the Lord
on thy right hand the shade.
The Sun by day, nor Moon by night,
shall thee by stroke invade.
The Lord will keep thee from all ill:
thy soul he keeps alway,
Thy going out, and thy income,
the Lord keeps now and aye.
Psalm 150
Praise ye the Lord, praise God
in his place of holiness:
O praise him in the firmament
of his great mightiness.
O praise him for his acts
that be magnificent:
And praise ye him according to
his greatness excellent.
With Trumpet praise ye him
that gives a sound so high:
and do ye praise him with the Harp,
and sounding Psaltery.
With Timbrell and with Flute
praise unto him give ye:
With Organs, and stringed instruments
praised by you let him be.
Upon the loud Cymbals
unto him give ye praise:
upon the Cymbals praise ye him
which high their sound do raise.
Let every thing to which
the Lord doth breath afford
the praises of the Lord set forth:
O do ye praise the Lord.
