Composer’s Notes
This work was written specifically for boys voices, utilizing a lower alto range to focus on their transitions as their voices change. That said, it can also be sung by women if your altos have the notes! Allow the work to ebb and flow a bit, according to your own musical instincts and tastes.

Text
To the hills lift up mine eyes,
from whence shall come mine aid
Mine help doth from Jehovah come,
which heav’n and earth hath made.
He will not let thy foot be mov’d,
nor slumber, that thee keeps.
He slumbers not, nor sleeps.
The Lord thy keeper is, the Lord
on thy right hand the shade.
The Sun by day, nor Moon by night,
shall thee by stroke invade.
The Lord will keep thee from all ill:
thy soul he keeps alway,
Thy going out, and thy income,
the Lord keeps now and aye.
