A brooding, nighttime mood permeates “You Are the Moon” with a skilled groove, blending popular and traditional choral styles. Muglia uses wordless chorus and invented “phoneme” syllables to create a cloudy, moonlit accompaniment to her melodies. Her own poetry is irrevocably fused with the composition, creating a powerful work of unified art.

As the cold wind whispers through the trees,
Carries all the memories one buries in the night,
A thousand fleeting moments race beyond the speed of light.
The dark reveals her image, drawn in shadows shaped by time.
Even in the shadow you are the moon.
The moon wears a changing face each night;
The surface shifts behind the veil of light,
Wholeness lies beneath each phase that rises into sight
A still and sacred mirror of both mercy and rage.

In the clear and clouded you are the moon.
