SSAA Chorus with Divisi

Commissioned by Robert Davis and the Ruben S. Ayala High School Women’s Ensemble, this piece offers insight into how we share the same energy that runs through the Earth and gives life to everything. The opening alto line is that stream that flows through us and the Earth. As the other voices join, you hear an ebb and flow to the piece swelling to the closing climax full of life and energy. Tagore is a prolific poet with a beautiful way of writing poems that lend themselves to choral music. Written for advanced treble chorus, this piece has the energy of a great opener or closer to any program themed around spring, life, and renewal.
