Composer’s Notes
Composed in the aftermath of World War II, Payapang Daigdig (Peaceful World) is often called the “Filipino Silent Night.” Written by Felipe Padilla de León, the piece reflects the nation’s longing for peace and healing after the devastation of war. Its gentle melody and simple, prayerful text evoke stillness and serenity, offering hope for a world at rest. Today, it is cherished as one of the Philippines’most beloved Christmas carols.
This new arrangement combines Payapang Daidig with the beloved carol Silent Night.
