What is the typical score price?
Most choral scores published by Graphite sold online are between $1.50-$2.35 a copy. Customers buy the pdf and a license for the copies they will make. We have a minimum order amount. The price of music distributed by Graphite from other publishers is set by those publishers. Scores for smaller ensembles (art songs, etc), are priced based on length at comparable prices. ($3.50-$25).
With Graphite’s online sale of PDF documents, what’s to say that someone won’t pay for 20 copies of a piece and print 40?
Many people are concerned with copyright infringement in today’s world of the digital market. We believe that there is an equal chance of someone illegally copying pdf documents as there is traditional sheet music. We ask our customers to be honest and to help support the people who are creating this music!
Do you sell printed scores?
Most of our sales are digital, though we do have permission to sell printed music from certain publishers to dealers and schools in print. If you are interested in this option, please reach out to info@graphitepublishing.com to learn about availability and pricing.
Do I need to set up a user account?
You’re welcome to purchase music from our site as a guest, though we encourage you to set up a free user account so you can track your downloads, past orders, and other key details associated with your purchases.

In most cases (depending on the publisher), we can help you get scores sooner. We can easily become a vendor for your organization so that you can order directly from us and get the scores sooner than many other dealers.
What’s your return policy?
We do not offer returns with the exception of what is mentioned in the ‘For Schools and Tax Exempt Organizations’ section (see below). If there is a problem with your order, please reach out to info@graphitepublishing.com to describe your situation so we can help you.
If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your purchased item, just contact us. Because digital music is so easily copied and distributed, in most cases we do not offer refunds.
If the file is defective, we can send a replacement directly to you. If the item was incorrectly delivered by us, we will give you a refund or credit the item in full depending on the billing situation, in addition to correcting our error and getting the right item to you.
If the item is something you no longer need or does not suit your needs, contact us directly by phone, email or in person and we will work out a suitable arrangement for you.
Shipping charges on printed music can only be refunded if an error was made on our part in filling your order.
If you’re still not sure, call us. We’ll work with you and get you taken care of one way or another.
For Schools and Other Tax Exempt Organizations:
How do I get approved as a tax exempt customer?
When you create a user account for online purchasing, simply upload your tax exemption documentation as prompted and your orders will be processed as exempt.
Do you accept Purchase Orders (POs)?
Yes. POs are processed by email and not our website, so please send them to info@graphitepublishing.com. If Graphite is a new vendor to your institution, please let us know if you need any documentation to get set up in your system.
Reaching out on behalf of a conference or reading session?
We love it when Graphite music is featured at conferences and festivals and can often provide scores at a reduced cost. Please reach out to info@graphitepublishing.com to share the details of your event.
If you have a surplus of scores after your festival, please note that we do not offer refunds but would be happy to credit your account for the cost of any scores returned minus a $5.00 restocking fee. Shipping fees would be your responsibility in this instance.
For Dealers/Retailers:
Is pricing different for dealers and retailers?
Scores purchased by dealers are sold at rates different from our individual customers. The following equation is used to determine printed prices: (Listed PDF Score Price x Number of Scores) + (Cost of Printing) + (Cost of Shipping) = (Total Price). For dealers wanting licensed digital scores, there is a flat $5.00 administrative fee in place of the above printing and shipping costs. Please reach out to info@graphitepublishing.com if you would like specific estimates for your POs.
What’s your return policy for dealers and retailers?
We do not offer returns for overstocked, unsold scores. However, if there is a problem with your order, please reach out to info@graphitepublishing.com to describe your situation so we can help you.
If the item is something you no longer need or does not suit your needs, contact us directly by phone, email, or in person and we will work out a suitable arrangement for you. We may need to charge a restocking fee in accepting the return and deduct it from the amount you would be credited. The restocking fee can vary depending on how much the item costs, how likely it may ever sell again, the amount of time before asking to return the product, and other factors.
