“Toward Eternity” follows the path one might take as they travel across the great divide. With a hymn-like musical structure, this piece offers moments of lyric lines with 21st century harmonics. Accompanying the emotions that dying might bring, the text expresses feelings of longing towards the immortal afterlife.

Because I could not stop for Death –
He kindly stopped for me –
The Carriage held but just Ourselves –
And Immortality.
We slowly drove – He knew no haste –
He kindly stopped for me.
We passed the School, where Children strove
We passed the Fields of Gazing Grain –
We passed the Setting Sun –
Or rather – He passed Us –
We paused before a House
A Swelling of the Ground.
Since then – ’tis Centuries – and yet
Feels shorter than the Day
I first surmised the Horses’ Heads
Were toward Eternity –
