A credo that welcomes the holy spirit in us and asks to be a mouthpiece for God’s word.
SATB a cappella
Written in collaboration between Timothy C. Takach and Michael Dennis Browne for a festival choir of varying denominations, “ All the Beautiful Names” is a credo for all people. The vocal lines require independent entrances and cut-offs, but feature gorgeous homophony. Takach features the soprano section in a lovely extended melody over the top of a mantra-like accompaniment, and the prayer is brought to a delicate close in the quietly touching ending.

We know we belong to You.
When we lose heart, when we despair,

It means we have forgotten You.
Bring us home with every breath, With every beat of the heart

All flesh comes to You
All the beautiful names are in You

All voices we have ever longed to hear
Help us to know ourselves always worthy of Your love
