3-part round, body percussion
This 3-part round is fun to teach and even more fun to sing! It can be used as a warm-up or on the concert stage, with lots of flexibility in voicing and body percussion. Written as a surprise gift to the middle school singers at the Singapore American School, “Spark and Breath” was born from the love of music and leaves behind a worthwhile message about who we are inside.
Composer’s Notes
I want this to be flexible, so you can use it in the best way for your singers. Use both body percussion ideas, use none of them, or come up with your own. Add Orff instruments. Have a small group that can do the clapping game stand in a line or circle apart from the choir. Have fun with this piece!
