In Glory Everlasting (choral/piano)
A rich, lyrical English setting of the historic Christian hymn.

In Glory Everlasting
SATB and piano (opt. strings)
This product is the Choral/Piano score.
Commissioned in 2018 by the Minnesota Valley Chorale, this new setting of the Te Deum Laudamus divides the historic text into four movements for SATB, piano and strings. Although this is a medium-length multimovement work, it will be approachable for many church and school choirs. The choral parts are sturdy and melodic, with smooth voice-leading throughout. The piano and strings are supportive, and frequently add counter-melodies and additional colors to the texture.
Composer’s Notes
Directors, don’t be scared off by the length of this piece. It’s very accessible harmonically and rhythmically, despite some occasional surprises. The choral writing frequently utilizes unison and two-part textures in addition to the SATB passages, which rarely divide beyond four parts. If you have access to a strong pianist and string quartet, the choir will slide into the musical texture easily with delightful results.

Text
1. We Praise You, O God
We praise You, O God, we acknowledge you to be the Lord.
All the earth now worships You, the Father everlasting.
To You all angels cry aloud, the heavens and all the powers therein.
To You cherubim and seraphim continually do cry:
Holy, holy, holy; Lord God of hosts;
Heaven and earth are full of the majesty of Your glory.
2. The Glorious Company of the Apostles
The glorious company of the apostles praise You.
The goodly fellowship of the prophets praise You.
The noble army of martyrs praise You.
The holy Church throughout all the world does acknowledge you:
The Father of an infinite majesty;
Your adorable, true, and only Son;
Also the Holy Ghost, the Comforter.
You are the King of glory, O Christ;
You are the everlasting Son of the Father.
3. When You Took Upon Yourself
When You took upon Yourself to deliver man,
You humbled Yourself to be born of a virgin.
When You had overcome the sharpness of death,
You opened the kingdom of heaven to all believers.
You sit at the right hand of God in the glory of the Father.
We believe that He will come to be our Judge.
4. We Therefore Pray You
We therefore pray You help your servants,
whom You have redeemed with Your precious blood.
Make them to be numbered with Your saints in glory everlasting.
