Dale is one of a few composers who is as strong writing her own texts as writing music! The piece is both energetic and contemplative at once. My chorus sang it right before lockdown and it came to mean a lot to us in keeping us going.

Sang this beautiful piece at Oregon OMEA under the direction Of Chris Auspass from ST Olaf In 2015. My middle schoolers are singing the SAB arrangement for their end of year, I do wish that we had access to Part tracks in the 3 part due to complexity of the 6/8 and additions of flats and naturals.

2026 GMEA All State Chorus 9-10 mixed chorus preformed this song, I was in this choir. At first I did not like this song whatsoever, but then I really looked into the deeper meaning of it and I really enjoyed preforming it. The audience laughing and repeating what we were singing really added to the effect. The blend of each section on this song + the cords were so beautiful!

Jennifer Lucy Cook is such a musical guru and wizard in her compositions, and this is another stunning example! Singers absolutely love it and will continue to ask to sing it long after any performance of it. Also works as a good festival/honor choir song selection!

My beginning treble choir LOVED learning and performing this piece. The voice leading is extremely well done and the message is fun. They enjoyed the drama of the entire “sonic saga.” We performed the piece with piano instead of strings, but the piano part is just as wonderful as the string parts. Highly encourage you to program this wonderful piece for a fun treat for your singers and audiences.
