Let us believe in the resurrection of the earth expresses hope for the earth’s renewal and asks for forgiveness. Will we do what it takes to undo the damage we have already done to the earth? The piece calls for reflection and action, and in this movement, a call-and-response refrain invites the audience to join in singing.
This piece is excerpted from A Calendar of Light, a 75-minute work that takes the shape of a calendar and holds us accountable for our relationship with the earth, especially in the greater context of climate change. Ultimately, the piece calls for reflection and action.
